What permanent lighting costs in Utah

Our permanent lighting costs $22 to $35 per linear foot, installed. That includes the lights, track, controller, installation, and initial app setup.

Your quote depends on how much roofline you want lit and what it takes to reach and install it. We'll measure your home for free and give you a written price before work begins.

Estimate your cost by roofline length

linear feet

Whole feet from 1 to 1,000. That range is a limit of this calculator, not a minimum or maximum job size. It opens at 150 feet as an example, not a measurement of your home.

Why linear feet and not square feet

We measure the roofline the lights follow, not the floor space inside your home. A wide rambler can need more lighting than a compact two-story house.

Height, corners, and roofline changes also affect the installation. A straight section is simpler to fit than several peaks and porch returns, which is why we look at the home before quoting.

How we determine the footage

We'll walk around the house with you and measure the sections you want lit. We'll also show you where the track would start and stop, so you know what the quote covers.

Example installation costs

These examples show the published rate applied to different lengths of roofline. Use them to plan a budget. Your home's measured footage and installation requirements determine the final quote.

Estimate vs. quote

The examples above are estimates. Your written quote will show the measured footage, included work, and price for your home.

Front only, or the whole roofline

You can light the front of the house, add the sides, or include the back. We'll quote the areas you want covered.

If you're considering more than one layout, tell us at the measurement. We can price the options so you can compare. Adding lights later may require a separate visit and quote.

What is included in the rate

  • The LED lights themselves
  • The track they seat in, selected to complement your fascia or trim
  • The controller that runs the system
  • Professional installation, including wiring and app setup

We'll also look at access, trim condition, and available power. If something needs attention before installation or falls outside the standard scope, we'll explain it in your quote.

What the measurement visit involves

It takes under an hour for most homes and it's free with no obligation.

  • We walk the exterior with you and measure the sections you want lit
  • We look at fascia and trim condition, roof height, access, and where power is available
  • We talk through colors and how you plan to use the system across a year
  • You get the footage, the rate, and a written installed price

How to get the most out of it

  • Decide roughly how much of the house you want lit, even if you change your mind on the day
  • Have a look at your fascia and trim beforehand, and flag anything that already needs repair
  • Know where your exterior outlets are
  • Mention any HOA rules that apply to exterior fixtures on your street
  • Anyone else involved in choosing the layout is welcome to join us

Financing

Financing is available through GoodLeap on approved credit. Available terms and monthly payments depend on your project and approval. Ask us about the options when we prepare your quote.

What the price includes long term

Two separate pieces of coverage come with the installation, and it's worth knowing which is which:

Installation and product coverage.

Questions we get about price

Is there a minimum job size?

Planning a short section of lights? Send us the address and the area you want covered so we can confirm the pricing before you book a measurement.

Does a two story cost more per foot than a single story?

It can cost more per foot because height affects access, equipment, and installation time. We'll account for that in your quote.

Can I light only part of the front?

Yes. We can measure a smaller section and help you choose a layout that looks complete from the street.

How does this compare to paying someone every December?

Seasonal installation is a recurring service cost. Permanent lighting has a larger upfront installation cost and can also be used throughout the year. See our permanent-versus-seasonal comparison for a closer look.

Is a DIY kit cheaper?

DIY kits usually cost less upfront. The comparison comes down to the kit, installation work, equipment, and who handles maintenance. Our professional-versus-DIY guide walks through those differences.
